Either I’m going to buy an adapter or just get free Wifi for my house’s desktop’s. Neighbors have unsecured connection with one bar on my laptop.

it all depends, if the wireless router sending the wifi has draft-n, and the xbox adapter does as well. It all depends on signal strength, so if you laptop has draft-n and your only getting one, you wont be able to play very well online.
by the by, using their wifi is technically illegal *cough cough*

One bar ain’t going to keep online with Xbox live. You need a wireless adapter with a number of three bars or more. I’ve tried on two bars and would drop in the middle of a game. So, your best bet is to get internet legally. You might hate what I just said, but you will thank me once you dive into the greatest online gaming system with over 12million users to play with.
